In Oregon and across the country, thousands of patients are injured at the hands of negligent medical professionals each year. Unfortunately, medical negligence happens virtually every day and is more common than many people realize. Health care professionals are often seen as some of the smartest and most responsible members of society, but they can still make mistakes. Hospitals and medical facilities are often understaffed so doctors and nurses are forced to work long, exhausting hours that can also contribute to mistakes. A man in another state filed a lawsuit after alleged negligence caused him to suffer injuries.
The plaintiff was a patient in a medical facility and allegedly suffered injuries due to negligent care. According to the lawsuit, the plaintiff suffered a fall and was injured while he was a patient at the medical facility. The plaintiff claims that he suffered a fractured hip and other physical injuries due to the fall.
The plaintiff claims that he could have avoided injury had he received proper care. However, the medical facility failed to sufficiently supervise the plaintiff which led to his injuries, the lawsuit alleges. The plaintiff seeks damages and all legal fees, as well as any other relief that the court deems just.
Even though significant advancements have been made in the field of patient safety, not all patients receive an acceptable level of care these days. Oregon residents who believe they or a loved one have been a victim of medical negligence have the right to pursue legal action. A successfully litigated lawsuit could result in vital compensation as well as justice for victims and their families.
